Located in the Leeward Islands of the Caribbean, Antigua is a tropical paradise and is one of the top holiday destinations in the world. The editor of the Caribbean section, yours truly, went on my honeymoon in Antigua and found the island to be a beautiful and restful holiday destination. The inhabitants were extremely welcoming and I am regularly reminded of the great holiday whenever I hear reggae music, wherever I may be.

In short I would say if you want an excellent holiday destination, one that you'll remember for a long time, then Antigua is the place for you.

When you holiday in Antigua, visit the Dockyard at English Harbour - named after the victor of the battle of Trafalgar, Admiral Lord Nelson. Nelson was based at English Harbour from 1784 to 1787. He was Senior Captain at 27 years of age and became temporary Commander-in-Chief of the Leeward Islands for a short time. What a great destination to have been stationed at for all those years.
